Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Hyeonwoo Rue, who runs CheckRideGo ("we" or "us"). By using the site, creating an account, buying, or submitting a debrief, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 to use CheckRideGo. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to buy anything or claim a cash thank-you.
What CheckRideGo is
CheckRideGo helps pilots prepare for FAA practical tests. It lists FAA Designated Pilot Examiners using the FAA's public records, shows a free summary of what pilots report, and sells full debriefs written by pilots who flew with them. CheckRideGo is independent and not affiliated with the FAA or with any examiner.
Debriefs are one pilot's account of one checkride. They are personal recollections and opinions, not official guidance. They may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and your checkride may go differently. Prepare to the FAA's Airman Certification Standards with your instructor. CheckRideGo is not flight instruction and doesn't guarantee any result.
Accounts
Give us a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. One account per person.
Buying debriefs
- Single debrief: unlocks that one debrief.
- Examiner bundle: unlocks every debrief for one examiner, including ones published after you buy, for as long as CheckRideGo operates. The bundle's price depends on how many debriefs that examiner has when you buy it.
- Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe.
- A purchase gives you a personal license to read the content on CheckRideGo. You may not copy, share, resell or republish it.
- Bundle credits you earn are not money. They can't be exchanged for cash, transferred, or refunded.
Refunds
Debriefs are digital and unlock as soon as you pay, so sales are final, except in these cases. Within 14 days of a purchase, we'll give you a full refund if:
- what you paid for didn't unlock;
- you were charged twice, or bought something you already had; or
- the debrief is materially wrong, off-topic, or not about the examiner it was listed under.
If we take down a single debrief you bought within 30 days of your purchase, you can also ask for a refund for it.
To ask for a refund, contact us or email support@checkridego.com with the email you bought with, the date, and what went wrong. Refunds go back to your original payment method, and we may remove access to what was refunded. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law.
Sharing a debrief
When you submit a debrief, you promise that:
- you took that checkride with that examiner, and it's your own honest account;
- it doesn't include anyone's personal information beyond the examiner's professional conduct, and nothing hateful, harassing, or knowingly false; and
- you have the right to share it.
A person reviews every debrief. We may decline, remove, or lightly edit a debrief (for example, to remove personal information) at any time.
You keep ownership of what you write. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, permanent license to host, display, copy, format, and sell access to it on CheckRideGo, under the display name you choose or as "Anonymous Pilot". This license continues if you delete your account, because other pilots may have bought your debrief.
Thank-yous
When we approve a debrief, you get the one thank-you you chose:
- Free examiner bundle: a credit for any one examiner's bundle. Needs an account.
- $15 donation: we donate $15 to the aviation charity you picked from our list.
- $15 cash: we send $15 to the PayPal email or Venmo handle you gave us.
- First-debrief bonus: where offered, the amount shown goes to the first approved debrief for that examiner. If another debrief is approved first, the bonus is gone.
We send donations, cash and bonuses within 30 days of approval. One thank-you per approved debrief. We won't pay a thank-you for a debrief we decline or find to be fake, copied, or a duplicate, or for one claimed through multiple accounts. You're responsible for any taxes on cash you receive. We may change or end thank-yous for future submissions at any time.
For examiners
If your FAA details are wrong, or you believe a debrief about you is false or breaks these terms, contact us or email support@checkridego.com. Tell us which page and what's wrong. We'll review it and correct or remove content where appropriate.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- copy, scrape, or republish debriefs or other content from the site;
- share your account or purchased content with others, or try to get around the paywall;
- create accounts or submissions automatically, or interfere with the site's operation or security; or
- use CheckRideGo for anything illegal.
Disclaimers
CheckRideGo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the content is accurate, complete or current, or that the site will always be available. Examiner information comes from the FAA and may change at any time. You're responsible for how you use what you read here, including every decision you make as a pilot.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about CheckRideGo is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
If someone makes a claim against us because of content you submitted or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Ending your use
You can stop using CheckRideGo and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we close CheckRideGo, we'll give at least 30 days' notice on the site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.
Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. Using CheckRideGo after that means you accept the new terms.
