Who we are
CheckRideGo (www.checkridego.com) is run by Hyeonwoo Rue, an individual based in California, USA. "We" and "us" in this policy mean CheckRideGo. This policy covers the website and the services on it.
The short version: we collect what we need to run accounts, sell debriefs and pay thank-yous. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics cookies.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address and password. Passwords are stored hashed by our sign-in provider; we never see them in plain text.
- Sign-in records: when you signed in, your IP address and browser. We use these to keep your account secure and to limit repeated attempts.
Purchases
- What you bought, the price, and when. Payments are handled by Stripe: your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number.
Debriefs you submit
- The examiner, checkride type, date, location, aircraft, fee, exam lengths, whether you passed, your notes and tips, and the display name you choose.
- Your email address, if you give one.
- The thank-you you choose. For a donation, that's the charity. For cash or a first-debrief bonus, it's your PayPal email or Venmo handle.
Messages
- What you send through the contact form: your name, email, phone and company if you give them, and your message.
Technical data
- Like most websites, our hosting provider logs requests (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) to run and protect the service.
What we publish
When a debrief is approved, we publish its checkride details, notes, tips and your display name (or "Anonymous Pilot" if you choose that). We never publish your email address or your PayPal or Venmo details, and we never share them with the examiner.
How we use it
- To run your account, unlock what you buy, and show your library.
- To review and publish debriefs, and to send the thank-you you chose.
- To send account emails, such as confirming your address or resetting your password. We don't send marketing email.
- To answer your messages and requests.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, such as fake debriefs, multiple accounts claiming thank-yous, or repeated sign-in attempts. When you choose a password, our sign-in provider checks it against a list of passwords known from data breaches without sending the password itself.
- To keep records the law requires, such as tax and payment records.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run CheckRideGo. Each only gets what it needs:
- Supabase: our database and sign-in system.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Stripe: processes payments.
- Resend: delivers account emails.
- Google Fonts: serves the site's fonts, so your browser requests them from Google, which sees your IP address.
- PayPal or Venmo: when we send you cash or a bonus, the payment goes to the email or handle you gave us.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of CheckRideGo, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and secure. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
- Your account data stays while you have an account.
- When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), we delete it along with your purchases, library and credits. Stripe keeps its own payment records, as the law requires.
- Debriefs you published stay published under the display name you chose, because other pilots may have bought them. We keep the email you gave with a debrief. Ask us and we'll remove that email, or take the debrief down.
- Contact messages are kept as long as we need them to handle your request.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to give you a copy, or to delete it. You can delete your account yourself from Settings at any time. Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have these rights by law. We won't treat you differently for using them.
To make a request, contact us or email support@checkridego.com from the address on your account. We'll answer within 45 days.
Examiner information
Examiner names, locations, contact details and authorizations come from the FAA's public Designee Management System locator, and we refresh them regularly. CheckRideGo is independent and not affiliated with the FAA. Examiners can ask us to correct their details or review a debrief through the contact form.
Children
CheckRideGo is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect.
